Background:
As of 2.0 beta2, VMWare Fusion supports OSX Server as a guest OS. OSX Client will cut off during the install, saying it’s not OSX Server (ORLY? YARLY!).
The link provides info on how to install OSX Client in VMWare. I prefer the sed/resigning trick.

After a staggering amount of requests from the fifo.sh readers, I’ve finally built a WordPress plugin that can filter specific author’s articles.
There’s no plans as of yet to opensource the plugin, since that sort-of leads to me needing to maintain it. Do not want.
Anyway, I’ve enabled the plugin on fifo.sh as of tonight. Some specs:
- it adds a small “hide” link to every article (it’s next to the author name)
- when an author is hidden, you can find him or her in the sidebar, where you can click his/her name to re-enable this author.
- all data is stored in a cookie until 30 days after your last visit.

Shot May 7-10 in North Hollywood, CA, this video features a cast of, well, many! And what a cast! An amazing group of well known ‘Youtube celebs’ was tracked down and flown in so they could do their thing(s) with the Weezer men. Its pretty much impossible to properly describe what went down, so just have a look!
Once again, there will be a Guitar Hero party at my place. Hopefully it will be as much fun as last time.

Finally I took some time to update fifo.sh. The new theme is a custom-made theme based on the default WordPress one.
Also, feedwordpress got some additional functionality. It can now filter on author from every stream, and map a feed’s author to a local user, so now the RSS and Atom feeds will actually publish the correct author names.
I made the decision to not import older posts from the older version, since it’s hell mapping all existing posts to the new local users.
fifo.sh is now powered by the new WordPress, version 2.5.
I also installed a wiki for fifo, to be found on http://wiki.fifo.sh/. It’s MediaWiki, and you’ll have to register + email-confirm before you can actually alter any content.

A custom fifo.sh theme for MediaWiki is in the make, but will take a while.
Last week, Apple introduced the 1.1.3 update for the iPod Touch. Lots of updates:
– Safari can now create bookmarks on the home screen
– icons can now be sorted at will
– “iPhone” apps (maps, stocks, notes, mail, weather) are now available ($20 upgrade)
– the home screen has multiple pages
– many more changes
So I decided to update. I didn’t want to lose the possibility to install 3rd party apps, so I searched for a ‘customised’ update method ;)
Thanks to DJMuggs I found iJailbreak. This app can update iPhones and iPod touches, and comes with a nice interface. It gives instructions on what to do when interaction on the iDevice is needed. Also, it has an option to self-update, so now I don’t really have to pay attention to 10.000 forums, blogs and Digg anymore for the latest iPod fix, just start this app when people around me start telling me there’s a new version.
So now I have a freshly updated and jailbroken iPod Touch again. iJailbreak was so nice to install installer.app and all the iPhone apps for me.
